What a pity!
I just saw on freebasic.net/forum that rdc has stopped developping FBeginner.Pdf
Last version is dated 09/03/2006 (1.1MB)
So get it, before it is too late..

Hi Dusky_Joe,
did you already see the 'new' manual:
http://www.freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5699
..seems that FB0.16b is outdated(at least in the helpfile)

..the latest version of the english chm-file may be found @:
http://www.freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5699
Plz note that coderJeff hat Folgendes geschrieben: | If not next week, then in two weeks time for sure. Then hopefully, that will be the last one before the release with fbc 0.17 stable. I'm still aiming for an "up to date" CHM to be released at the same time as the compiler. | ..so there will be a stable version of FB0.17 coming 'soon'..

Well, here we go again..
This time I'm pretty fast, seems that there are many new items in the latest release of the english help-file.. v1ctor hat Folgendes geschrieben: | Great additions, the best release so far, congrats - the link in the downloads page in fb.net was updated already.
It seems much easier to follow now, much more for new users with the programmer's guide, thanks to everyone working on the documentation, in special to coderjeff and stylin. | ..what could I add..

Hmm... maybe, this topic should be marked as 'important' ?
I'm not quite sure, whether everyone gets these informations, posted here.
Ah, got an idea:
Another Tread within this forum, "FAQ: Woher bekomme ich die aktuellste FreeBASIC Version?", is already marked as 'important'. Maybe, it's description should be changed, so that it tells about every new download?
I could post my Ref-Downloads, there (so that "Hilfedatei-Fehler (CHM-Ausgabe)" would be really used for reporting mistakes, only), and all information would be compact presented and easy to find... what about this idea?
Anyway, could you post the download-Link for Insight?
(prefered to be read in "FAQ: Woher bekomme ich die aktuellste FreeBASIC Version?" )
Hve a nice day
Ciao

Well, the ytwinky post-chain contains 11-postings, but that wasn't what I wanted
I created this thread for news about the english help-file(s) and decided that it would be better to keep it in english
for the language of these files is english
Users who are not able to read english won't read this thread neither the files..
(..of course some of them don't even read the helpfiles in their own language
I beg your pardon, I didn't want to hurt anybody )

..in the meantime there is not only the final fb0.17b released but also another
version of the help file. Get it here: http://www.freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5699
Enjoy reading it, I think it is necessary

I know that you know that interrupts are very important in computer technology to deliver information..
..as I already said: this is just a normal thread where anyone can post, I'm just protocolling the development of the helpfile, because it is always important to have the most up-to-date helpfile in case you have to answer questions..
..though it may be only to yourself _________________

I agree with you, when you say, that interrupts are important, but don't you think that Mao is more a class or an object or sth. like that but an interrupt-routine?
You see, Mao brings several properties and methods with him, some of them even protected or private! I'm talking about things like Mao.postcount, Mao.reply, Mao.quote and so on.
Especially the fact, that Mao has taken out of his own descission shows, that he must be more than an interrupt-routine. As a such one, he could only have been triggered by the apperiance of the new helpfile on fb-portal. Ok, maybe, a Mao-routine is installed there, but I still think, that Mao brings too much features to be just one procedur.
And, don't forget about his speed!
If he was only one procedur, in fact, don't you think, he would need a mass of time, just to decide which part of him should do the task that is given to him by the parameters?
Even in this one post, there are those parameters:
Mao.language = FBLang_English
Mao.MainInformation = "The english FreeBasic help file is now also available on FreeBasic-Portal: http://www.freebasic-portal.de/index.php?s=download&id=22"
Mao.Replies = Mao.ReadAndProgress @Forum("freebasic").SubForum(FB-Forum).Thread("en-helpfile-**/**/****")
(The last method created the string "Sorry, have to interrupt your post chain. " and put it to the top of posting)
You see, Mao can't be a simple procedur.
Have a nice day
Ciao
